User Account Control

My friend used my laptop for a few hours, and now when i go to do certain things like delete cetain files, or defragment, a prompt shows up saying windows needs permission to continue. If you started this action click continue.

What might my friend had done, how do i stop it from asking that? It never did in the past, i am the only user of it, and only administrator.

you have to change a setting in the control panel... i will be right back

If you are using windows vista follow these.

Go to control panel.
Type uac on search
Click disable.

You will be done.

From the top.

Start > Control Panel > Classic View > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control On or Off > Un-check the "Use UAC" check box > Restart.

Sounds your account isn't admin or hasn't got admin priv.
