Newegg raters> A mini rant!

I hate the people that one egg a product just because it is DOA. That has nothing to do with the product, It's the fact that UPS or whoever isn't too concerned about the package handling. I'm not saying they're playing catch with you're new video card, but if it slips off the shelf, meh. What can you do? There is no reason to knock a great product down just because you got a fluke bad one. I used to read the one egg reviews first to see why they didn't like it, but 99% of them are about DOA. It happens! Get over it! Now I just read the cons on the good reviews, and they are helpful, like, "Oh, it needs a driver update for 64x vista. OK, no problem."

Exactly, even though I am extremely tough on reviews with the eggs, most only scoring 4 eggs, I hate these people who put 1 egg in for their problem or something doa.

Newegg has some of the worst reviews, ever! I have seen some stupid reviews, too; like ppl having problems because they didn't do something correctly... It gets annoying...

What I hate is people who rate products 5 stars, and just use the review box to ask questions about the product...IE: "Does anybody know if this RAM will work with the X38 Maximus Formula"

ha ha. Yeah, I've noticed that. People treat the review sections like a message board. It's not uncommon to see people flaming each other and what not.

IMO, only people that have bought the product should be allowed to rate and comment on a given item.

Yeah I know man, it gets anoying when people start contradicting other people like

"To the guy above/below me, da dadaad adaa dadaa. So shut up!" It happens.

That's why I usually actually go through the reviews and not buy it only cause of the "5 eggs"

I dunno i really like getting the feel for what the failure rate of the product is, it maybe just me but if i see 100 reviews and come across "25 this came DOA" i would steer clear. Even if the other 75 were all 5 eggs. Normal failure rates for electronics are like 5-10% so if its 25-30 its a POS ha

I was reading a review the other day for a 8600gt and the dude was like "this card is pci-e, I was stupid and didnt notice, make sure you have the correct slot" And then marked it down to 1 egg. Just because you got the wrong slot doesnt make it a bad card people!

The stupidity of some of these people is unbelievable. That's a good example. :P

newegg should have contacted him immediately after placing his order and explained to him over the phone what a pci-e slot is and how it will not work with an AGP slot. as a moneymaking corporation they have a responsibility to hold the customers hand from start to finish...... right?

because a lot of people seem to believe this

Why should they have contacted him, they took it for granted that he knew what he was buying, and it could have been bought for a separate PC in the same order.
