hows this card for my comp?

Well it says it has a PCIe slot but its called a X1 slot. Dont know if that means that there is just one slot or its a wired X1 slot. If its a single lane X1 slot thats just a physical X16 slot you might have problem getting a video card to run on it. It just says PCIeX1. I would call them and find out how many lanes it has before investing in a video card. As far as the cards go you would be better off with a 3850 or 8800GS if your looking for a sub 150 buck card.

if you do I dont recommend 8600GT they are terrible

The 8600gt is not horrible!! It is great if your a budget gamer and want to save money and yet get decent graphics. The one he showed is horrible but the xfx one is great. No problems yet and I max out LFS with it. In Dirt I get about 35-40fps which is fairly good.

will this fit in my computer? and will it be good for playing games like prostreet and cod 4?

Get this one as it is much better!! Trust me b/c I own it. Just dont expect to be playing crysis on max with this card. You could prob play it on lower settings though.

agree.if you dont touch games such as Crysis, lost planet extreme condition, world in conflict,etc,8600GT is enough.
It's kinda weak but definitely not crap!

thanks for the comments guys. the main reason i chose this one is b/c it is only 60 bux on sale at newegg after the rebate...and i know its def an upgrade from what i got.

here is an old pic of the inside of my computer

the XFX GeForce 8600 GT seems like a pretty good one too. another reason i picked the one i did is b/c a friend of mine has it and he's always playing cod4 with it. here's that XFX at newegg for 5 bux less lol.

the main thing to me is making sure if actually fits my computer and is around 100 bucks or less.

Oh, nice. I didn't read that far into the thread.... I'm thinking of getting the same card for the PC in my signature. Something to hold me off for a few more months.

Actually that XFX card is not the one i posted! The one I posted is the XXX Zalman edition which has a way faster clock. Look at the different clock speeds. The one I posted is 680mhz!!

Nevermind! I looked at that one on newegg again and it is the XXX Zalman ed but, they didnt put it in the title. My bad, I read to fast and skipped over it.

ive always heard that those cards are terrible cause i was about to buy one and ym friend talked me out of it. Im glad i went witht he 8800 but still i didnt think they were that bad. But from what ive ehard they arnt great.

I just replaced a 8600 gt with an xfx 9600gt i only payed about $40.00 more than i did the 8600 the 8600 played most of my games like bioshock and half life to at 25 to 35 fps at max settings the 9600 will play bioshock at 60 to 64 fps at max a big difference for 40 more dollars the 8600 worked great on lesser games like sid meiers pirates gladiator sword of vengance ect i will keep it for a backup
