Everything is outdated in six months time. That is still one of the current Intel chipsets in use while not being the latest available. The X38 and X48 are however. SIS and VIA chipsets are crap while NVidia nForce is certainly one of the preferred.
Looks good to me. Teh P35 is solid.![]()
Define future proof.![]()
I would recommend something other than a Asus, however.
I thought Asus was number one in motherboards?![]()
But I think that i will go with a gigabyte x38 anyway. Any comments on that?

Yeah, I think it's a great board - I own one.
If you're concerned with future proofing, you may want to go with a 790i or X48 chipset. They both require DDR3 memory. Or you could get a board that supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory. Here's one, for example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128082
And that mobo is fine?
Looks good. Like I said, the Intel P35 chipset is solid and still very relevent. You can run 45nm duals/quads and they're pretty good with overclocking, if that interests you. Gigabyte markets excellent boards.
It's not as good as, say, the SiS or Via chipset, but meh... it will do..
*runs really fast* lol![]()
Thank you. This helped me a lotNow I'm soon ready to order my parts home
Looking so mush forward to it
I just caught that.
Great! I'm very mush looking forward to your new build as well.![]()
