help connecting to the internet

so ive been on a wireless internet connection for about a year now on a dell. But today i got a new imac, and am having problems connecting. The airport says i am connected but whenever i try to connect it says that i am not connected. THe diagnostics isnt helping either. Anyone know how to fix this?

Well my friend got a mac book pro.... so i'll ask him when he comes on MSN and i'll ask him, how he did it.
 
i honestly dont think its the router. I just think theres something messed up with the settings, and im a complete apple newb.

I would think it is the router, based on that you can connect to your neighbours link. :D

That's fine. When you're done screwing around and realize that it's the router, that I've also had the same trouble with the Linksys and Macs, replace it or disable encryption on it. :)
