Last check before ordering !

The Q6600 is the better choice. I can't really see any argument for the Q9300. You can OC the Q6600 to 2.5 with a stock cooler. :D

Is it available? If so, get it.

It is not available yet. But if I order it now I will get it for that price, huh?

Just put this other rig together. would this be better?

Processor - 1 x Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 / 2.66 GHz

Gigabyte GA-X48-DQ6

Sapphire RADEON HD 3870 X2

Antec Nine Hundred - Tower - ATX

Antec EarthWatts 650

Corsair XMS2 Xtreme Performance 4gb 6400

Samsung SpinPoint T166 HD501LJ - Harddisk - 500 GB

Samsung Super-WriteMaster SH-S203D

Stick with the X38 and get the Q9450. Everything else looks good.

What's the price difference between the X38 and X48?

So this is what I should order:

Processor - 1 x Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 / 2.66 GHz

Gigabyte GA-X38

Sapphire RADEON HD 3870 X2

Antec Nine Hundred - Tower - ATX

Antec EarthWatts 650

Corsair XMS2 Xtreme Performance 4gb 6400

Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 - Harddisk - 500 GB

Samsung Super-WriteMaster SH-S203D

Really? The 3870x2 from what I've heard was manufactuered to go against nVidia's GTX...

The 3870 X2 price point would suggest that, but it performs much better than the GTX (for me, anyway). In fact, better than two of 'em. As you know, my SLi setups seemed to underperform, so I can only speak from my personal experience.

Benchmarks say all :D
