Motherboard has power connection for PCI-x - necessary?

Just finished building my computer and WinXP is currently installing - all seems well. The board is a MSI K9N4 SLI and it has a Molex power connection on it for the PCI-x graphics card. I currently don't have that hooked up b/c my graphics card obviously has a PCI-x power connection on itself - which I do have hooked up. So, since the card is self powered, do I still need to hook up the Molex or not? Like I said, everything is running fine now, but when i go to game, I don't want to run into any issues. TIA

Its PCIe not X, usually the extra molex power connector on the board is when you run SLI with 2 cards. I keep mine pluged in even with one card, but you should not have a problem

sorry about that - i was thinking of the x16...

I appreciate the response. I'll probably be SLI-ing in the next month or so, so I guess I'll go ahead and hook it up.
