Forgotten pasword

My friend asked me if I can help her with this.
She put a password on her user interface on windows, forgot what it is, and now cannot log on.
I was wandering is there is a program for finding out what is the original password, or is reinstalling windows the only solution?

we are unable to answer that here

I see that's kind of a hacking problem, but I mean really isn't there a more simple solution for this problem which sounds to me happens often with people who don't use their computers very much? I guess not.

Search youtube!! You should be able to find something.

Not only are we not allowed to Post the actual how-to for something like this, but giving 'passive info' (ie - where to find the info) is also considered a no-no. You're done it in a few Threads now, so not sure if you knew it before or not. Either way, it could lead to bad mojo for you.

click log of and double Click Alt+ctrl+Del and write User:Administrator
and the segment pass empty.click OK.
you log in with user admin and you can change the pass.:)

Boot it up in safe mode and change the account settings in there - it should work. When you boot up the computer press "F8" continually until it goes into safe mode and go from there.

but this is a genuine problem for some people-i have done it before, its not like your being asked to change the password of a stolen computer?

Yeah... well..... my best friend knows most of my passwords ( i can really trust him!!!!) and if anything you have a little question for if you forget.

Right, but it could be used for good or evil. If no one solicited Forums like this for the intent of illegal stuff, there wouldn't be an issue. I'm not saying that was the OP's intent, but we've seen a lot of scammers in the past. We don't live in a perfect world, so I lean towards not divulging the info.
