Msi p35 neo...extra hard drive

hey guys,

i have a msi p35 neo motherboard

it has

1x UltraDMA/133
5x SerialATA

i currently have a 400GB Sata2 drive in it but would like to add a 80Gb Sata hard drive just for music.

can i put a 8mb cache . 7200RPM Maxtor Sata drive in there?

yes, just be sure to check out the bios afte installing the drive to see that your primary drive is still being booted

if it's a pata then be sure to set the correct jumpers and follow step 1

you mean like switch on...starts and then restarts again? then loads normal?

i heard this from alot of Msi users of this board.

yes that. i almost shat my pants when it happened but then read it was normal for msi boards. everytime you make a hardware change/configuration it'll do that.
