G25 Wheel + Games

My friend is selling his G25 for a very good price but I was wondering what games work with the clutch? He says that GTR 2, Need for speed and Test Drive Unlimited work well with it. I am looking for a game that is very realistic that will feel very close to driving, can anyone recommend anything? I am not too keen on the NFS series and have heard mixed reviews about GTR 2 and TDU. Thanks for your help!! Ben

can't really think of a lot right now. these are on the top of my head:

Live For Speed
BMW M3 Challenge (free download)

g25racer will add more to the list. ;)

Yes I will add more to this list!! Here's the games I have and play all the time!!

LFS - Best clutch supported game ever (Must use clutch to shift and take off)
GTR2 - Must use clutch to take off but can shift w/o clutch
Need for Speed: Pro Street - Has clutch support but isnt the greatest
GT Legends - Same support as GTR2 as they are packaged together
Rfactor - Same as GTR2
Race07 - Have not played with g25 yet but going to buy soon
Dirt - Not very good support (handling is bad)

I love my G25 and would be very happy to see another person to get one!! They are worth every penny!! I paid $260 for mine when they first came out. With a few little shifter mods the shifter feels much more realistic. The force feedback is like no other wheel ever made!! Out of the games I listed I recommend that you get GTR2 or LFS. LFS is like $45 but you can download the whole game for free but most of the parts are locked. LFS is under 500mb download too. GTR2 is a great game to play too. GTR2's online play is great! You can download cars and mods for the game and all you do is drag and drop the cars into the GTR2 folder. I'll show a pic of what you need to build, which is mine and a link to a good mods website. The website requires you to be registered to download but its worth it and its free. By the way LFS is the best game for drifting!! I am superb at drifting in LFS. Maybe we can have a little competition with posting our drift vids on youtube!! I am happy to give you more info on the G25 if needed.

wow yea LFS looks great! Looks very realistic! Just a few questions on the clutch usage in LFS: is it basically like driving a real car? I.e. (not saying a would!) but can you ride the clutch etc? Can you stall? Even real hill starts? Sorry about all these I'm just looking for a really realistic game!

And yes, perhaps a competition a little later on as I have never really done any kind of car racing yet so give me a bit to get good! :P

Thanks for your help g25 racer!!! :)

Yeah if your looking for realism then go with LFS. In LFS if you dont take off right you can stall it and then you have to start it back up with the ignition and start button. If you shift w/o the clutch then the engine just over-revs b/c it wont go into the gear but just goes into neutral. LFS is def the best game!! In GTR2 i forgot to mention that you cant start your engine on fire and even blow your engine up. I can post demo vids on youtube if you would like me to?

k I am definitely getting LFS!!! Just need to put together my computer then I will joining you no doubt! Hopefully up and running in about a month, will let you know probably! You can put up some vids if you want, can you link me to your profile? Thanks a lot G25racer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

LFS? realistic? i hardly think so. not when a front wheel drive car understeers to the point that it goes sliding in a nearly straight line across the track even when only going 60mph. most closed course racing games have cars that handle like they are on ice.

theres many driving games that can support a g25, although not all games will make use of all its features. GTA:SA for example, all you have is the steering gas and brake. i also used it in NFS Underground 2, Carbon, and Pro Street without trouble. although i generally don't use a manual set up, so can't really comment on the clutch support.

All those game are arcade games and not even sims!! Why would you play those games with a g25 wheel?

Here's my profile! I'll be working on putting up some more vids throughout this week. I have a few vids of GTR2 and some car mods too.

I don't think TDU has a clutch option so it wouldn't work on that. But off the top of my head theres:

GTR2
LFS
NFS: Pro Street
Project Torque and
R Factor

Also if you have a PS2 you can use the G25 with racing simulators such as GT4 but it doesn't have a clutch function...

TDU does have a clutch, in fact, if you change from a H-shift car to one with flappy paddles then it'll automatically swap and disable the stick shift. And LFS did seem a tad unrealistic, I've been in a car with 240BHP on the front wheels and it never understeered as bad as LFS did, if at all.

Exactly!! I just got done playing it now actually. TDU cant really be classified as a sim game because its just another one of those arcade games! But, it is still kinda fun. LFS is still way more sim like than TDU or probably any other game out there.
