I was talking about MCO, and I didn't call is singleplayer. but if building your car is the main part of the game (wich you made it sound like), I don't see the point of browsing through a catalog of parts with 30 other players all the time. maybe you get my point now.

But for someone who really loves cars, such as myself and obviously KPC84, that is half the fun. Its like creating your dream car and it reflects your personality. That might be hard to understand unless your really into cars but i do believe a car has to reflect your personality. Like there's no point buying a really nice classic v8 you have to do the work yourself otherwise there's no pride in it.

edit: besides, I never said its a bad thing, tough, calling it a MMO while you can only race with 8 people at one time, and you're browsing a catalog half the time for parts. well, it does kinda take away the point of a MMO, doesnt it?

yeah of course its not as good as building the real thing but if u dont have the money........i am definitely gonna be building my own car when i have my career underway, probably an aussie muscle car. classic cars are actually a great investment. Sorry lol this has got way off topic.

look, there is really no point in me defending this anymore. you never played the game. you shouldn't have an opinion on it. yes, buying parts and building cars is a big part of it. but there were also many other parts in the game. for example, there were live auctions for cars and parts. there were WEEKLY live events (which is more than i can say for any other MMO i have played). honestly, the game was shut down in 2003. the game was so deep with content and things to do i probably forget more than half of it.

I just don't think it's fair that you are bashing a game that you have never, ever played.

I've played ice hockey my whole life and therefore never played or got into basketball. do i sit here and bitch and moan about how basketball sucks? no, i don't.

All I'm trying to say was that for a racing MMO this game literally had it all. for some reason it just didn't keep making money. and I think it's unfortunate that EA or another developer hasn't gone this route in a long time.

who's unfair here now? (ps, I have read up on that game before posting here, and it certainly didnt looks as prommising as you want us to believe, for example, the only cars in it were american (muscle) cars)

No, I'm saying you shouldn't have as strong an opinion on the game as you do based on something you have no experience with. You read about it online...Oh wow. I read about nuclear fission and fighter jet aerodynamics...Do I pretend to know what I'm talking about? No.

Dude, I'm done. You're much too closed minded and literal. I didn't say all racing games were crap. I said the Need For Speed franchise has been terrible after Porsche Unleashed, and was trying to educate some people about a game EA made called Motor City Online that wasn't part of the NFS series.

And of course it only had American muscle cars in it. The name of the game was Motor City, which is clearly refering to Detroit, Michigan which were the traditional homes of Ford and Chevy engine plants. Based on the logic from your last post you're saying Porsche Unleashed must have sucked as well because it only had Porsche's in it, when given the title of the game it was quite obvious what the Dev's were trying to do. If a developer puts out something with a title as obvious as these, don't complain that it's missing content which it obviously wasn't intended to have in the first place.

I'm done arguing with you, none of your posts have been valid or made any kind of sense.

GRID looks awesome though, and can't wait to buy it.

Yea... for americans maybe. for all I know, all cars have a motor in it. but I gues never even considered the possibillity of a language barrier here.
also, i never said the game was crap (if I did, feel free to quote me) I'm just saying that you're wrong that all those other games are "racing jokes"
