idle is when your at the desktop and there is nothing running. load is when your doin something that puts a lot of stress on the computer.
temps weill vary a lot. 4 - 12oC is nothing to worry about. when mine is idle its at 25-30oC on different cores.

What he is saying is that there is a 4-12C difference between the core temps. That is normal, the reason is because Core 0 is what does most of the work, so if you are only running a single-threaded CPU intensive program, then one core is going to have a much higher temperature.
Generally, the first two cores are the ones that will have the higher temperature.
