EVGA 8800GT overclocks horribly, BSOD often.

lovely?

hi, i RMA'd my last 8800GT because of fan difficulties, but this new EVGA one is having some troubles getting out of the starting gate, overclocking-wise. I cant seem to bump the memory or the core clock up even 50mhz, or else sometime during a game i will get a BSOD... does anyone know why this might be happening? i usually have the fan set to 75%, kinda loud but it keeps the video card under 70C lol

well this is happening on cod maxed out, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. maxed out. the latter looks outstanding when lightning is going off, i must say.

it was a joke really, right now it's idling at 47C. and my case flow is not the greatest, but i have a 120mm fan, three 80mm fans, one intake and two exhaust, and one more 80mm thats so damn loud that i dont turn it on (side fan)

same. i haven't tested mine much, but i just remember that crysis would artifact and crash when i overclocked at 700.

the stock fan is shíte!
i replaced mine with the duorb

forget the newegg review's. mine was flawless and took my temps down to 25 idle and 35 load.
with this, i was able to push my card to 800core and get no artifacts.
memory will go to 1150 max and shader goes to 1800.

nice choice of fan,i think it depends on what brand you go with,Asus put a realy good cooler on mine.

i havnt attempted OC my GT though, theres just no point yet because its powerfull enough stock.

I don't think cooling is a problem for most of us, or maybe just me. My card never goes above 85, usually not above 75, and yet it will still artifact. Would raising the voltage fix this? And is it safe?
