I have been trying to burn a family movie I have on my computer to a DVD, I burned it as data. I can play the burned DVD on the computer, but it doesn't work on my dvd player. Can anyone help me, what should I do to be able to play it on my dvd player.
Thank for any tip.

you burned it as data. you need to burn it as vcd or dvd video as mentioned.

also check the specs on your dvd player. if it's old chances are it will only support dvd -r if burning dvds

With old dvd players is a hit and miss with DVD-R / +R's. Seen some that just like +'s and other just -'s.

Your ''family movie'' is most likely a computer file such as .avi or .wmv. You need to convert the software to DVD format then burn it.

There are free programs to do this, but if you aren't experienced enough you could try nero or roxio or something like that.

Nerovision allows you to add files then it converts them to DVD format and then burns it.
