Logo on socket Advent 7201 laptop

Can anyone help please. There is a logo on the back of laptop above the socket logo is a small square above two other small squares. Have tried an ethernet but wont fit same applies for plug to adsl modem, the manual lists things which are not there, could this be a firewall? i have never come across one before. thanks Al

found that there was a piece of metal protruding and preventing plug from entering. bent metal back all well, thanks agein. al
