Screen = fading, bouncing and freezing.

I've been having a problem with my screen for like the past 2 days.
I don't know what it is, but the display is constantly flickering, fading out and freezing... I've tried taking screenshots, but they show nothing, so it's defo a hardware fault..

Anyone got ideas?

PS. LCD screen on my LAPTOP and when I tried to update the driver, Vista's telling me that it can't find any new updates..

CRT? LCD? What type of monitor is it?

I'm pretty sure it's a hardware fault since the screenshots he took come up with nothing weird...

Well considering it's on a laptop... LCD obviously.

Oh yea, sorry, missed that Hve you tried plugging a monitor in it?

If possible, try another monitor. If it works, then your laptops LCD is probably dying, but if the problem remains it's probably the video card that's done for.

Nope, it isn't.
and will I need a new video card?

Depending on the laptop, chances are that you can't replace the video card. And, to me, it sounds like the LCD anyways...
