Will lots of fonts make my computer run slower?

I'm thinking of installing a lot of fonts since i'm alot into 3d editing, but I think that i once read that a lot of fonts can make windows run slower, or is it only when I boot it is slower?
 
I have heard it does as Windows loads them all during the boot process. Though I know at one point I had quite a few fonts loaded and once I removed them, my boot time really didn't change.

OK - well i suppose when you opened up word or something it 'could' take a little longer loading the fonts.

That is not revelant to this situation.

The more you have, the slower your computer will be. Will you notice? Probably not, unless it's a 500MB font of some sort.
 
I've read that it really doesn't matter until or unless you start having over like 200, 300 fonts or so. They're all loaded at bootup, but each one is like what, 60, 70kB or so? After a while, all those hundreds of fonts do add up and slow down the boot process.

OK - so it slows down the boot process. But does it slow down the computer in lagging or anything???

BTW. A week ago I formatted my computer because I bought a 74gb raptor for system drive. I couldn't get the new raptor to be the system drive. The system is installed on the raptor but it says (boot) if i go to computer management in control panel. And the old partition that I had as system drive is formatted as well. So now the drive that is (system) is my storage drive. Does it matter anything that it is like this? All programs and so on are still installed to the raptor.

And another thing is - I need a program to handle what programs to load when windows start up, because I find windows loading slow when the desktop is showing.
