"not Enough Free Space"? Wtf?

So I have my external HD divided into 3 partitions, and when I have a look at the "properties" of one of them it says there's 13 GB free space, but when I try to copy a 4GB DVD image to it XP says that there's not enough free space. What the hell's up with this, anyone know? Need help quick...

This conversion process will keep all the data on the drive, its not formatting just converting. Done it many times before an nothing gets lost:)

You basically need to convert to NTFS because FAT32 has a file size limitation of 4GB, which is why it's not allowing your file to be transferred to that partition.

Oh OK, does the conversion take long, I'm kinda short on time and if it's going to take decades I'll just bring in an empty DVD and burn it (the file happens to be an image)?

Umm...sure this would work? Because there's stuff on it that I need to access on an old Win98 system, and I'd rather keep it FAT32...

Did you not read he needs it for a windows 98 computer? NTFS will not work with 98. No advice is better then bad advice my friend.

What you can try and do is split the file into 2 smaller files. I beleive winrar has this feature.
