These are the specs

You have 1 IDE Port:
P450-9102-out9-hl.jpg

You have SATA Ports:
P450-9102-out10-hl.jpg

So i would recommend a SATA Hard Drive. I would recommend this one

The hdd that cohen recommended will work and is a good hdd. Sata are much faster than IDE and thats what you should use as your main hdd for the OS. You can use the IDE hdd that you have as a secondary drive to hold docs, music, and etc.

P.S. Good recommendation Cohen

Thanks - IDE you would use for a DVD drive.

I got an SATA DVD burner the other day, was only $30 CDN. PATA(IDE) really isn't needed anymore.

Also, if you had 2 of the same drive but one was SATA and the other was PATA, they would have the same performance. The SATA interface is faster but the drives can't use the full speed for sustained transfers.
