and yes i know one com has 2GB of mem just set that to the side and look at the rest.

and i am buying windows XP for it.

the one you say is better please tell me why you say it.

also out of the 2 video cards what one is better from the two computers?

Just a heads up right now, neither one are very good gaming systems. You would likely want to buy a separate video card on top of the system you're already buying. Why are these the only two choices?

I'll leave it to others to pick one of these dogs.

Kk, i just hope they take windows xp we dont use vista.

the reason these are the two we looking at cause we like them and we are kinda tight on money at the moment and we really do need a new com soon.

I don't know how good the pentium dual-cores are, so I'd go with the AMD.

They should take XP without a problem. It's not like new computers these days won't. Drivers are sometimes a factor, but I don't think you'll have an issue with these builds.

kk cool, i was just worried cause in a review on the 499 one some one said they could not loud up xp on theres. It kinda scared me :\ well we are still thinking so we wont pick just yet. Thanks

They both will run XP no problem. The money isn't so much an issue, its more specifically those two you picked. You can get considerably better systems for the same amount of money.

Is it an option for you to build your own? I highly recommend it, there's really no reason to be nervous about it. If it is an option, that would be the way to go.

Building your own system is very cost efficient and is much easier than new builders would think. Most people are nervous as they go into their first build, put it together in half an hour, and then never buy a prebuilt system again. Call it one of life's little secrets, at least as the average person goes.

we thought of building our own but finding what we want kinda was hard lol. plus my bf is the one buying this and they use that site they will not buy from other sites :( so we have to go off of that site. we picked them two cause how they looked and what they came with. Well out of the others on that site we like them two... thanks for the help and all we wont be buying any till a few months from now. who knows we might see if we can build.

can i ask out of the two what video card is better or are they both good looking?

If you won't be buying for a little while yet, I would consider getting build opinions then instead of now, as prices will continue to drop for everything. Again, I highly recommend building your own, and you would have excellent advice down to exact components to buy from here, for your budget.

thanks, well ya we will see about building. we will just have to see what the tiger site has we want.

i do see we would need to find a good motherboard on there but also got to find a tower that the motherboard will fit in at the same time but its hard to find one on that site :( hmmmm

nice that sounds good. see that would be cool if he would just go around and buy stuff when its on sale or specials and stuff but he has to buy it from that tiger site :\ ... we have 2 months so we have some time to see what we going to do. what motherboard you planeing on getting with all that?

i might see if i can get him into newegg.com i like that site
i do like that case your wanting to get. Only thing is i dont know how to tell on that site what motherboards go with the cases and he would have to also pick out all the other stuff like video card, mem, every thing.

Assuming they aren't getting their system right now and it is a couple months away, all of you offering component lists are just wasting your time.

I built the entire computer thats in my sig. from parts off tigerdirect. They have an excellent selection. As far as motherboards fitting into cases, ATX motherboards fit into full towers, mid towers, and server towers, but not micro towers/boxers, or home theatre cases.

MATX motherboards fit into just about everything. When you are looking at a motherboard look to see if it says ATX or MATX. Then look at the case that you want and see if it says ATX or MATX. Make sure that those acronyms match up. ATX board for and ATX case, MATX board for a MATX case.

MATX boards will fit into ATX cases, but not vice versa.

As for graphics cards, you really dont need anything crazy to play those games. I would think that you could get by with most on-board graphics cards with those games. If you do want or need a graphics card, you could easily find one for under $100 based on the games you say you play. They are not graphically intensive games and therefore don't require anything special.

well found out today he wants a computer next month. well i'll see what i can do, if we cant build one we might just pick one of them two i posted k thanks.

strange thing is alot of things on sites today always say "vista ready" but we dont like vista even if a computer says vista ready that should not mean windows wont work right?

PENTIUM Dual Cores? Better off with the Core 2 Duos. Take in mind, E21*0s are labeled "Pentiums" also.

If you're on a VERY tight budget, AMD is the way to go. However, Intel gives you more performance for the dollar.

oh ok cool, well i just looked at the computers we had here there are not mine, all are intel :\ so we are going to pick one of them two maybe.
