ok.... i guess i'll go with that on on newegg cause it the cheepest with that sp2 thing just as long as it the full thing. my bf bought a new com that has no OS on it right now, so the xp will be put on it.

IIRC you can only buy Windows XP with SP2, they don't sell versions with SP1 anymore.

Have you considered Vista?

we hate vista. we only do xp sorry. it fine we just buy from newegg it cheeper than some other sites

I've come to realize that there is really nothing wrong with Vista. Mostly all of the main issues are worked out. I just need to get used to the new environment.

But hey, XP Pro is $10 cheaper on NewEgg than Tiger, so I wouldn't complain.

microsoft is going to stop support for win xp soon... hope it doesn't though..

by the way, it is really not that difficult to adjust to vista... a little patience is all that is reqd.. all the shortcomings will be cleared in sp1.

Nah. they're just going to stop selling XP starting some time in June. Support isn't going to end for a little while longer.

they cant just stop support-its like forcing everyone to upgrade!!!

saying that i wouldnt be surprised with the greed people/companys have these days, everything still wouldnt be enough to have for some people!

yeh i dont doubt it-but the thing is-

why would they stop support early as there is still copys being sold?

i think there would be some law to stop them.... they need to wait until most copys are sold and used for a year or two

will belive it when i see it

lol.. thats fine.. i have not broken all connections from xp as well... i have both of them in my PC... some softs and games still require xp and i haven't got past them.. lol

heh i have some games that go on 98 but lol i try my best to play them on xp some times :) LOL not a good thing lol

http://www.oem4xp.com/106_OEM-Windows-Xp-Professional-SP2-Full-version.html

will it work ??? my dad told me some XP wont work on some computers. He said some computers need the x64 xp or something. Does that one need the x64 or can i get that one that just is the OEM?

That'll work just fine.

Your Dad needs to catch up on some reading. Just because it has 64-bit components doesn't mean you need a 64-bit version of windows. A 64-bit computer just won't have it's full potential if it's being held back by a 32-bit OS.
