Anybody have any experience with Yate Loon 120mm fans?

I am looking to replace my Antec Tri-Cools. There are lots of reviews and comparisons, but with very mixed results.

I trust the members here more anyway.

Basically, the Tri-Cools on low are great, but as soon as i step them up to medium, they get too loud for my taste.

don't have any experience with the yate loons. I have been experiencing with a lot of other fans in the same case you have. You can see my setup in the pics in my sig.

What do you intent to do? The build i have right now has a passively cooled gpu and my cpu is oc'ed and still it's dead silent. I love the fans i've got. But if you don't give a crap about how loud it is. Don't mind these fans (max rpm is 1200).

They're okay, not the best, but probably better than the Tri-cools. Have you taken a look at the Noctua NF-S12, Nexsus Real Silent fans and the Scythe Flex series? They are considered 3 of them best silent 120mm fans available.

noctua and nexus real silent are silent, even at stock.
if you go with the scythe, take a low rpm one (1200 max) if you want it to be quiet.
Using a fan controller doesn't work with those either. The engines tend to make alot of noise then.

The 800rpm ones are really nice. I have one and it's pretty quiet. The fan, however, has a very high starting voltage, so it's hard to undervolt it correctly.

yeah, i have also been looking at the nexus real silents. My ultimate goal is to have the quietest possible fans, without such a severely low RPM that they arent doing anything. i dont mind spending money to get the best.

Then get the Noctua 1200rpm one, they're VERY quiet for the amount of air they move.

yeah i just read a bunch of reviews, and they are great. the only downside is they dont come in black, they come in this hideous brown/orange color for some reason

Yeah, oh well. Paint it black if it's really bothering you . Otherwise, they're the best of the best.

I have the low-rev Yate loons, cheapo Rosewills and Tricools. The Tricools on low are the quietest, the Loons are somewhere between the low and medium of the Tricools, and the Rosewills are loud.

I like the tricools the most, cause they're quiet, I wouldn't get loons because they are louder than tricools. you probably will have to get expensive fans for what you want.

if it were me it'd be a close call between the noctua and the nexus.
I haven't had the chance to try out the noctua. (not much retailers around here)
Maybe just buy both and give them a try.

And of course after that post the results so i can decide if i want the noctua :P
