Hi guys,

i have just saved up 1100Pounds and now i want to b uild my own desktop computer. The problem at the moment is deciding on the final components. So far, i have the following set up in my mind.
Intel Quad Q9450 (CPU)
Maximus Rampage formula (Motherboard)
I want 4GB fast memory and a very good GPU.
The GPU should cost around 200 Pounds that i cant decide which GPU or memory to go for. I am definetly going to Overclock the CPU and possibley the memory.
Any suggestions would be of great help..

thank you

Hi

thanks for ur quick reply. And ur oppinion is gratly appriciated.
It will be used mainly for gaming, video entcoding and running multiple screens and tvs.
Do u recon ill b better off with the q6600? cuz the q9450 isnt that much more and from what i have heard it is overclockable up to 3.7 stable. Which is crazy. id probably just overclock it to 3.4ish.
The the Mobo is the correct one. It seems a lil expensive but apperently it make the overclocking of the q9450 very easy and safe.
The GPU seems great. and not that expensive. But ist the MSI one the best to go for? what abt asus? they seemed to have a lot more frames ps (in games anyway) on the overclockers website. Would it be worth going for a 1GB one or is that just a waste of money?
The RAM seems great 2. I was actually looking at the same.

Thank you very much

Your cpu and mobo look good. That ocz memory suggested also sounds good. For gpu the 8800gts suggested looks like a good plan as well. I would advise against using SLI as it is far from worth it in your situation.

The 9800 series IS better, I would go for one of those if you can afford it. You won't see a massive boost, but they are definately better.

yeah if you can afford it then buy a 9800GTX.

and yes q6600's have lower multipliers but with a good motherboard they are STILL one of the best processors. i've said it a million times, but there is no dual core that will beat a quad core in the long run.
