Comcast Modem - Moving

My friend still has his Comcast Modem, and he told them that he was moving, and his move got delayed for awhile, and he was wondering how much longer he will have the Comcast Internet. We hooked the Modem up and got internet, so will it only work for a few more days or a week or so?

Depends when Comcast said they were going to cancel the service.

It should work until they come out and cap the line. Maybe they just haven't done it yet.

What would stop the connection, the cable internet or the modem?

Whenever Comcast shuts off his internet, it will be gone.

If he uses it when they think its shut off, can they see/log it?

Yes comcast can tell when their modems are in use. They stop service by shutting down access to the MAC id of the modem when they shut it off it will be off. Did he give them a date? If they havent shut it off that means he is still being billed until they shut it off he is billed so he may have paid through a date and they have it set ot shut off at the end of the month i know around here my comcast bill is for the next month's service so he probably already paid for this month aka his mac wont be shut off until the end of the month at the end of the cycle and they wont say a word to him..
