Cleaning the inside of my computer

When packing up my computer it was incredibly dusty on both the inside and outside. I used a compressed can of air to spray it all over. Is it ok to spray on the insdie of the computer? For example the motherboard, RAM CPU area etc, Will it not damage any of the components?

Cleaning out your machine

Another suggestion is to take the computer to a GAS station that sells or has an air compressor (like to use for airing up your car's tires), this works perfectly fine and better... Blowing out the dust and debris inside helps the computer perform better.

Try it!

WOW!!! That is a first!

I've used my compressor to blow out my machines before. It's perfectly fine.

he didnt say anything about using a compressor, he said a can of compressed air. that being said, it is perfectly fine to use compressed air to blow out dust from your computer. if you accidently turn it upside down, or any of the frozen liquid comes out, make sure it dries before you turn your computer on.

I hope you're joking.

I think, it will not work? :D

Air compressor tanks collect condensation (water), which will spray out as a mist and could potentially destroy computer components.

Unless you're certain there's no water in the tank, which you cannot at a service station, do not use it.

Cans of compressed air are the best to use in my opinion. :good:

I was getting ready to post pretty much the same thing. However, it is possible to get a water/oil trap for an air compressor that will prevent this. Obviously this still rules out gas station air compressors.

Also, air compressors are powerful enough to destroy computer fans and actually break a soldered component off of the motherboard, so extra care is needed when using them.

NOOOO! Those air compressors are notorious for being dirty and holding tons of moisture!

The air in compressed air cans is liquid in it's compressed state and sublimates into a dry gas when expelled, making it safe for electronics
