$700 Build

The E8400 is by far better at gaming than the quad..

Especially if you get it to 4.0Ghz for daily use (should be no problem)

I would also try and get the DS3L as well.

PLEASE... someone help me out here.

You put words in my mouth and assume way too much. I didn't say the Q6600 overclocked better than the E8400. I said I would rather get the Q6600 if I was planning to overclock. Big difference.

Who's the dumbass now.

It is now, but like I said before, you will never see it with current games. Then again, I don't play 3dmark. I play real games.

Two words...GPU Bound.

And again, the future is when we will see the separation happen.

huh? A Q6600 will give you better 3dmark score. I'm saying the E8400 is best for real world performance, and gaming.

But, a single video card is not going to be bottlenecked, with either a Q6600 or E8400. A 4.0Ghz E8400 will give better gaming performance with dual video card setups.

I don't have any links, but i have seen ALOT of comparing, and personal results. Which is as real as it gets :P

But really, for gaming, your going to get the most out of a E8400. If your like me, your never going to use four cores. Right now, most, or all games don't even support quads.
