Hello, as im sure you have seen in my other post i am trying to upgrade my gaming computer the specs are below. these are the items i thought about replacing them with.. tell me what you think or if you suggest something better or if it wouldnt work, i basically just took what alienware is using in their premium model.

You're going to need new memory as well. If you're looking more for the perfomance factor vs enthusiast factor, that processor is a waste of money IMO, unless money isn't so much a factor.

If you're looking to overclock, chances are you might want a different case and cooling options.

What do you suggest in terms of memory?

Oh this machine has vista on it.

And its liquid cooled.
 
In terms of memory, I'm sure some nice DDR3 1600Mhz would work nicely. This is pretty unfamiliar territory for me though, better get other opinions as well.

Good call. You do need more opinions.

DDR3 is not worth the attention nor the cash currently. The latencies are too high to see a worthwhile increase in speed and performance. Good ol' DDR2-800 is good enough.
