computer freezing

Hey guys,
in the past 2 days i have realized that my computer is freezing for a little bit.
i will be just web browsing with media player in the back ground and my computer will freeze and the music will go all fuzzy.It will be like this for 20 seconds and then go back to normal
i have run virus and anti-spyware scans and havent showed up with anything.
and its not like my processor is under load, as its a new comp.

any suggestions?

i did a system restore to a few days back and i have the same problem, no occuring as often though.

guess ill b doing another full system build after exams (i just did one a few months back)
 
Is that the comp in your sig? Anyhow, I'd recommend running CCleaner, maybe RegCleaner (<might be a little confusing for noobs at first!!!), and scan for viruses/whatnot...
 
yes, the computer in my sig.
so its no piece of crap.
ill give that recommendation a go.

ok, just gave CCleaner a run. hopefully it doesnt freeze any more, ill post back if i have any problems.

Best to post a Hijackthis log:

Post a Hijackthis Log

  • Download Hijackthis from here
  • Open Hijackthis
  • Click on "Do a system Scan Only"
  • Click on "save log"
  • A notepad window will open
  • Hit Ctrl + A
  • Copy + paste in a forum reply

Then we can go from there.

I havent had any problems since cleaning up the reg.
if i do have any problems i will post a hijack this log.

Why did you bump a cleared case?
No, it doesn't seem like it's a Windows registry problem. CCleaner obviously helped and Cleaner only cleans unnecessary files ( temp files, deleted files with some remnants etc ).
