Help with graphics cards

They are ok,but there not so good for gaming.It will play current games but in low to medium settings at best!You need a hd3850 at least!or nvidia 8800gs.
 
I don't need something that's great at gaming, and I would like to keep things under $80 because of a limited budget. What about the two cards that I listed?

2600xt,Dx10,512Mb (128bit) 400mhz clock speed
I don't think so The 8800Gt smoskes the HD 3870,So what makes you think the 2600xt is even match?Don't give people false hope.And those are old games!

ummm idk what specs you were looking at for the 2600xt i think you were looking at the 2600pro

Be that as it may!The you cannot compare that card to the 8800Gt is like me saying my 965 is close to a Core 2 Duo E8400!Comparing apples to oranges!Hd 3870 beats 2600xt 8800gt beats hd 3870 so how is that even close?
 
well first off the 3870 doesnt beat the 8800gt and i can say this from first hand experience in benchmarking with fraps with my zotac 8800gt vs my friends 2600xt hes only 10 -20 fps less than me in most games, and his other specs arent better than mine in anyway: 1.8ghz athlon 939, 2gb ddr 400, and that HIS card. and look up benchmarks on youtube from the tigerdirect people on the 2600xt which they prove it is comparable to the 8800gt
 
in almost all benchmarks the 3870 beats the 8800gt and sometimes even the 8800gts. and if you researched benchmarks, attempted to provide a basis to your arguments, and stopped being an nvidia fanboy your argument wouldnt be so weak and make you sound ignorant. your not backing up your argument with any facts, your psuedo-opinion doesnt count as fact, sorry

hahaha im not an amd fanboy seeing as i own a nvidia 8800gt and love it and have used nvidia since the mx400 days. and i know intel makes better processors than amd. i dont see why you cant accept the fact that the 2600xt is a good card and is comparable to the 8800gt.
 
Dude,your stubborn as a mule!You see that the all mighty 2900xt can't beat the 8800gt so why say that the 2600xt is comparable?I'm not saying it's a bad card,all i was saying is that you made a mistake when you compared the two as nearly equals.

You have the wrong guy Blackheart. You were talking to Ethan and I was backing YOU up.

Edit: I suggest you just calm down. It is obvious the 8800GT beats the 3870 in the vast majority of benchmarks, let alone the 2600XT that gets completely slaughtered. It is common sense. Ethan (the ATi fanboy you're arguing with), either knows this and is digging himself a hole, or is blind to it and for some reason will never stop arguing.

Just leave it be.

AHAHAHA i love that you call me an ati fanboy... when i own an 8800gt, 8500gt, 6600, mx400, and i have had 2 laptops with nvidia and i plan on owning a gtx280 asap(Im much closer to an nvidia fanboy. i'm just making the point of not dimissing the 2600xt for a crappy card and i have had hands on experience with it as my best friend owns it and it is a good card and ive seen similar performance with that and my zotac 8800gt in several games and benchmarks
