i don't see ya doing much gaming with a wireless connection unless your playing checkers, chess or something.

Wireless or Copper?

LAN is recommended for gaming and networking. you can only use wireless if you have a strong signal where you stay, but wireless signals can be easily tempered with and it cannot cache half of the graphics you need. wireless is not an option for a gamer, so its a no from me.

To make the computer wireless you will need to have either a PCMCIA wireless card or a USB Wireless Adapter attached to the computer. Then your modem will need to be a wireless router modem. This way you can start to have a computer being wireless connected. The Ethernet Card is for you to plug the RJ45 to the port of the modem or a wireless router modem. So it will be a wired connection and not a wireless. therefore you will need the above mentioned item to start to configure for a wireless network.

DSL internet connection can run via your phone line - and your local Cable Company probably offers Cable internet as part of their services. So if you can get Cable TV - you should be able to get Cable internet.

Yeah get yourself a box of CAT5 and run the wire outside round from the router to your room then back in through the wall to the computer.

Be fine.
