Extract data from GPT hard drive?

OK, I did not see post #12 mentioning that the owner did not find the power supply, it was buried within the rest of the thread... well, that put a dampener on a mighty fine plan.

Just out of interest, how old is the machine? Young enough to have a USB-C docking station to provide power and screen?

I found some software I had and used it to see what was on the drive...It did a good job but, nothing on the drive worth saving...Will format, get a case for same, and use it as an external storage drive.

Disk manager is showing unallocated so it seems the partition table was wiped. Something simple like Active@ Partition Recovery should work.

You can also try booting to a Linux live CD and see if you can view the data and copy it that way.

I did a partition repair-restore and that yielded nothing and, HD still "unreadable"...I found some software I had and used it to see what was on the drive...It did a good job but, nothing on the drive worth saving...Will format, get a case for same, and use it as an external storage drive.

QUESTION -
Regarding Linux.......
.

I looked around and all I can find are dl's (iso's)....

Is there a site/link that I can dl the entire os that will work with 32bit and copy to a flash drive that does NOT require me to burn a cd/dvd?

I mean you can put ot in a DVD or Flash drive. It all depends if your bios will allow to boot from the flash drive

#############################

Let me CLARIFY....

1)...I attempted to DL an os and I saved the file...
2)...What I was looking for to do is dl the COMPLETE os ( "setup", etc etc,) click on that file and have the os install all the way....
3)...I cannot locate such an animal.....
4)...I do know that I can set bios to " boot from anything" but, when clicking on "setup" in the dl'ed file, it fell on it's face and did not install...
5)...I want to download (dl) the full os, save a copy to a flash drive and my desktop, and run the copy, from my desktop to install..

You need to download the ISO File for the version of linux you want, then write that image to cd/flash drive and then boot to that to install, just like you do with any windows version. Many videos and websites on line on how to do this.

After you download the ISO just write the image to the flashdrive, then boot from it. You can't boot from the ISO, you have to make the ISO bootable

Thanks for the reply...

Somehow, I figured there was a step I was over-looking......$--T!

If I remember, the file (os) was in rar form so, should I extract the download to the flash and then, boot from the flash then?
