Noise at start up of computer

When I start up my computer, it makes a loud noise that lasts for a couple of minutes and then it turns to dead silence. Any idea what this is and if it is of any concern?
 
Does it sound like a fan going at high speed? If you can record the noise and attach it in a reply that would definitely help us tell you what it is.
 
Either its registering that its too hot and its making the fan run harder to keep it cooler or possibly the fan is full of dust? Is it a custom built pc or store bought? If store bought, what make and model is it?
 
Any changes made recently to the pc, like software or hardware? Can you open the case and check around the cpu fan for caked on dust? Check startup tab in task manager for any not needed programs that are running at bootup. What processor are you running? You can run a program to check the temp on it. If its an AMD cpu then use coretemp if Intel then use Realtemp.

Okay I installed Coretemp
 
Did you run it? You'll see temperature readings pop up or they will be down by the clock.
 
You need to install it of course as you would most programs so open the downloaded file and it will start the install, just follow the prompts. At the end it will open you'll see this.

You can post that image so we can see what your temps are.

Yes, I have it but I have no idea how to post the image here. It is all 35C to 37C and co-pilot says that it is normal

You need to press and hold alt button while pressing prnt scrn button on your keyboard. Then open mspaint and press and hold ctrl button and press the letter v. That will paste the image into paint to where you can save it and then attach it by pressing the attach files button you see at the bottom of the reply box.
 
Those temps are totally fine, so odds are that startup noise is just the fan doing its thing during boot — a lot of machines do a brief fan ramp during the POST checks before settling down. The fact that it goes quiet after a couple minutes is actually a good sign, means nothing's overheating. You're probably good to go.

My primary harddrive is SSD and I also have a secondary harddrive, installed from my old computer but it is an HDD. Co-Pilot AI, seems to think that it is this HDD, that the noise is coming from.
 
Again if we had a recording of the actual sound instead of guessing what it might be. I highly doubt its the hard drive spinning that fast, its most likely the cpu fan.

He didn't post any temps. I posted that as an example of what it would look like.

I did post temps, I said that it was all 35C to 37C. If it was the fan then why would it go quiet after a minute or two?

Evidently the system thinks its overheating and it kicks the fan in high gear. Maybe cause you have a lot that is set to run at bootup? Check you cpu usage at bootup using task manager and see where its at. If the cpu column is in the red, thats why.

Usually fan bearings going out, they get stuck or grind and then warm up and re-lubricate. When they're cold they grind again.
