It should just detect it when installing windows. Unless whatever damaged the ssd in the first place also damaged other things. Looks like that model is only 3 years old or so and shouldn't be having problems unless it got hit by power surge or something. I have no advice as like I said...

How are you trying to use this? Your pc case should have an open molex connector you can use to power it. If you are trying to use it as an external then you would need a usb adapter in which you would need to plug that into a 240 to 120 volt converter or find the correct usb adapter for the UK.

I can't find any info online about what max size heatsinks that case will take. That case is almost 20 years old. I would suggest getting a new case. That cpu cooler requires at least 157mm fan clearance from the cpu to the side of the case

Cause its still trying to boot into windows and installing linux screwed up the boot files. You'll need to repair it. If you have secure boot enabled then it might not boot to usb. Also go into the bios and set first boot to usb. Run windows repair from the installation media.

What brand of hard drives do you have installed? That will determine what utility to run. Is it the EVO 870 and how old is it?

You have failing hardware somewhere. I would do a diagnostic on the hard drive first especially if you have had power disruptions lately. Those are never good for a pc.

Does the bios detect the hard drive? My guess is that hard drive just failed on you.

The only thing I can think of is that you are maxing out your service when the ac kicks on. How many amps is your main breaker? Is it central air is it a windows ac unit? If its a window unit, it shouldn't be on the same circuit as your computer.
