    AMD loosing earnings

I am on the fence on that one. I never had a problem cooling my Socket A machines, but then again I had a 54CFM fan and a huge solid copper heatsink, both cases I had at the time were 5+ 80mm fans as well. Not exactly a *quiet* computer haha. But then the XP-M's came out and overheating was a...

    AMD loosing earnings

Haha, I remember that video. Someone posted it here on the forums a long time ago. I'm pretty sure the AMD overheating/melting problem was before Socket-A, wasn't it? How many years is that? And people still like to bring it up and say it's a problem AMD has today with modern chips. Aieeee...

    AMD loosing earnings

And if you've ever owned and AMD powered computer...you know that is a pack of lies. AMD computer's have a "shutdown" temperature just like Intel's have/had. This is old technology, and it's an old rumor, that AMD chips get hot and explode/melt...while Intel's don't. I encourage you to try an...

    Desktop Harddrive adapter cable

Well I think she is going to sort through all her "stuff" and weed out alot. Hopefully it won't be 10GB total. If this doesn't work we'll have to go buy some DVD's and try it that way. Just for kicks, here are her specs - Acer Aspire 5610 Windows Vista Home Premium Intel Core Duo T2250...

    Desktop Harddrive adapter cable

Hmm, good thinking. Hook the drive up to another computer and transfer them over her home network. But I don't know how happy her brother would be to do that. Maybe I'll just hook it up at my house and do it that way. I don't have an enclosure, and you're right about using the cable only one...

what the best home cleaning solution

"*Warning: We suggest using a cloth dampened with water when cleaning monitor on a screen that is not made of glass or has any type of anti-glare protection on the screen. Using ordinary household glass cleaner on special screens, especially cleaners with ammonia can remove anti-glare protection...

    DIY section

As long as each DIY thread was approved by our staff, I vote yes. We don't need "crappy" DIY articles with bad instructions and such. But a well explained idea, with pictures and good insturctions is always helpful. I'd vote to have a FEW small guidelines for each article, have it be approved...

Pop ups-Malware what can i do?

Hey MR2Doze! Hmm, after you run HiJackThis you should just be able to "Copy + Paste" the results directly to the forums. All it is is text. Try another HJT scan and it should let you do that. If you read the "Essential Read" thoroughly it's not hard to follow. But if you have questions about...

Shut Down Day - Can CF Do It?

Car mechanic. We use ancient computers to keep track and check inventory, process orders, clock in, and sign off for commission work. They are probably 400MHz machines, they take about 10 minutes to boot up and loading an 800*600 image on there internet can take several minutes. Very crappy...

Mozilla Firefox - All its cracked up to be?

Some kind of DSL. ADSL, SDSL...one of the DSL types has a better upspeed than the down speed. Anywyas. Those are pretty slow speeds. I have a feeling your computer is limiting the true bandwidth potential of your line. My up and down speeds are 6,000/500kbps respectively and those videos play...

Mozilla Firefox - All its cracked up to be?

I'd say your computer might need to be defragmented and cleaned up a little bit. If it used to run fine and now it's bogging down, you may have a malware problem.
