    Mixing RAM Frequencies

Depending on what you go running. If your a power user and aren't wasting resources on an AV and don't have a bunch of useless stuff running in the background then I'd go with the 512MB stick. If you are running an AV and a bunch of useless stuff running you'd be better off with more memory.

    Raid 0+1

Check your motherboards manual for the type of RAID it supports if any. If it does then you don't need anything more.

    Windows wont recognize a drive

Is RAID enabled in the BIOS? I just put together a system for a friend and the BIOS came with RAID turned on. Also check your manual to see which set of SATA connections you should be using if your not using RAID.

    camcorder not recognised

There are no camera drivers with Firewire. You can do as Cameldude suggest and try USB if you had. Movie Maker does support Firewire but you may want to try another capture program to double check it's working properly.

    cd keeps skiping

Same here with Nero only burning audio CD's at 48x. Not that I'm using it much for audio CD's. I am using the Nero 7 Essientals to burn disc. I'll have to try Windows 7 and see how fast that burns sometime.

"Rules" for Windows 7 Upgrade Verified

Personally I'm not liking this. To sum the article up it says that there is no way to perform a clean install with the Windows 7 upgrade disc. You can only perform an upgrade with it and there is no "work around" like in Vista. There is a a great comemnt that sums up my thoughts "Way to tell...

    Virus/Malware?

Do what johnb35 says. The first thing to do when getting a second hand computer is to format the drive and reinstall the OS. This will also help you verify that you got a legit copy of Windows on the PC and not a pirated version which will cause you trouble down the road if you do.

    IDE drives and SATA drives

I think I've been to that "PC Show" he's talking about it. It's about a half step up from buying things out of a trunk from some dude in an ally. I'm running a system just fine with an IDE and a SATA HDD in it.

Don't want people seeing which porn sites your going to huh? Don't blame you me either. Let me put it this way and this is always the case. If the person providing your internet wether it's your ISP or a Hotspot (laptop or otherwise) wants to they can look at your traffic and see where you...

New pc problems already vista dell?

My advice is always the same in this situation. Send it back. Accept no less because a computer that has issues on day one will likely always have issues since the issues are hardware related. Note about Dell tech support: Free customer tech support is handled overseas (mostly in...

The USB 3.0 standard won't even be finialized till sometime in 2010 if we are lucky and we won't see any products till then. USB 3.0 won't be standard on motherboards till 2011 with the vurrent time table. Most USB devices won't see any benifit anyway from USB 3.0 it's really aimed at external...

    Backing up files

Yes and it's built into Windows. It's called Windows Explorer and you can just copy and paste the files you want to back up. Sync Toy is great for automating this process. I kid but this is actually how I do my back ups. The program you need depends on what you want your back up to do for...
