Cause its still trying to boot into windows and installing linux screwed up the boot files. You'll need to repair it. If you have secure boot enabled then it might not boot to usb. Also go into the bios and set first boot to usb. Run windows repair from the installation media.

You have failing hardware somewhere. I would do a diagnostic on the hard drive first especially if you have had power disruptions lately. Those are never good for a pc.

Does the bios detect the hard drive? My guess is that hard drive just failed on you.

The only thing I can think of is that you are maxing out your service when the ac kicks on. How many amps is your main breaker? Is it central air is it a windows ac unit? If its a window unit, it shouldn't be on the same circuit as your computer.

If they all say source was kernel power then its gonna be difficult to track down. Could be due to failing memory, hard drive or other. Might want to start by running memtest or even removing and reinserting the ram sticks to make sure they are seated properly. Next would be a hard drive...
