    WEP Problem

Don't use WEP, it's useless and could be hacked in under 10 minutes. Use WPA at a minimum, but you should be using WPA2. If WEP is your only option on the Conceptronic AP, you should honestly throw it in the trash and replace it with something more current.

Forgot Linksys password; not using Windows for that hack--where to go?

Do a 30-30-30 hard reset. Hold the reset button on the modem for 30 seconds, unplug and keep the reset button pressed for 30 seconds, plug it back in and hold it for 30 more seconds - all of this continuously holding the button. That should reset the router back to the original out-of-box...

    Security Essentials

It got rid of a nasty virus I picked up somewhere that AVG couldn't even find. I've been happy with it.

Trying to burn an iso to a flash drive, running into trouble, Help!

You should be able to open the .iso using something like WinRAR. From there you could just copy them over to the flash drive.

Computer and other devices fried... THROUGH ETHERNET

Your best bet is probably going to be, to submit a claim with your homeowner's/renter's insurance and let them sort things out. I lost a DSL modem, router, and two TV's earlier this year, due to lightning. Plug everything into surge protectors in the future. That's about the only advice I can...

    Internet Explorer 9!!!

I'll use it, just as soon as Microsoft stops pretty much integrating it into the OS, so stupid BS can attack my system easier. Firefox will be my main go-to browser until then.

External HDD possibly lost its data?!?!

The external drive can be removed from the case it's in and attached to the motherboard. It's just a plain ol' SATA drive inside of a case, with a USB adapter plugged into it. There's several videos on YouTube that show the disassembly process, just take your pick.

    Secure a Storage HDD?

Easiest way I can think of, is to put everything into a folder and take ownership of it. Limited accounts shouldn't be able to access them, only administrators. Edited to add: If they know the drive is there, go into administrative tools -> computer management -> storage -> disk management...

External HDD possibly lost its data?!?!

What happens if you plug the drive into the motherboard's controller, versus the external case? If you can get it to read the info, get it off of the drive now. It sounds like failure is imminent, if it hasn't failed already.

    GPU Swap causes no response

Fully seated in the slot? I've had to bend the alignment tab at the end of a card before, so it would fully engage the slot on the back of my case and seat into the slot completely. It could be something, as simple as that.

    Remove Vista Password

I would imagine that even if there is a way, it's not going to be permitted because it would make public a way to circumvent an administrator password.

    Hard drive failure!!! help

I've heard of double bagging hard drives inside of two ziplock freezer bags and popping the drive in the freezer, but I have no idea if it works, nor would I personally wish to find out. Other than that, I think your best bet is to cross your fingers and hope you can copy off your important...

    One HDD, Laptop and Netbook

Not only that, but you'll likely get a BSOD and may deactivate the current installation, thus leaving you deactivated when you put the drive back into the correct computer.

What kind of connector is this?

Ah, it's a DVD drive. I was thinking hard drive and in a tray. It's probably some sort of proprietary connector that HP uses. It's very similar to the one sitting here on my desk, which also happens to be HP. I bet the difference is that mine is IDE and that's SATA?

What kind of connector is this?

Pull the drive out of its tray, it should be four small screws - two on each side of the drive. That's just the adapter that the laptop's manufacturer uses, to connect the drive to the motherboard. I have a similar one sitting on my desk, as we speak that came out of a dead HP laptop I have.

    Spybot refuses to fully immunize???

I wouldn't be overly concerned. All the immunization does, AFAIK, is to edit your hosts file, changing a bunch of sites to 127.0.0.1, so it tries that address instead of the actual address.
