Not at all :) It can be at any angle or distance you want it to be, that's what makes a good photographer.

Also you might want to check your monitor as well, my monitor has a setting to switch back and forth from DVI to VGA.

It'll help to turn off AMD Cool N' Quiet too.. (If there is Cool N' Quiet on that model)
