Can't Delete Trojan Virus - Help!

@_Pete_ Yeah, I know it's out-dated, but I've been using it since 2003. I have Open Office and Google Docs, too FWIW. I also use Office 365 for work and Office 2010 on another system. Aside from some of the colors not translating from 10/365 backwards to 2003, no compatibility issues. Don't...

Can't Delete Trojan Virus - Help!

My immediate thoughts as well. I wonder if the same is true for those who still use Office 2003...

    Extend Wi-Fi

Are you using the Comcast-provided router and modem? If so, there are much better options out there to purchase, both in terms of speed and signal range. Yes it's an additional one time cost, but you'll end up saving money each month by not renting the hardware through Comcast. For the router...

Phone stuck in infinite reboot loop

Generic note app - I vaguely recall having that on my S2 as well. Switch to Google Keep moving forward - infinitely better. Maybe? Doubtful, but perhaps worth a try. Not going to do anymore damage at this point, yeah? System backup is everything on the phone itself (Android files, App data...

Phone stuck in infinite reboot loop

A hard reset is sometimes confused with a hard reboot (forcing the phone to power down by holding the power button until it turns off rather than shutting down via the UI). Perhaps that is what they meant. A factory reset involves wiping all data off the phone as mentioned above. What note...

The phone doesn't show up on my computer when I connect it

What kind of phone? Some you have to put into a media transfer mode in order to have it show. Could also try a different USB cable and/or port.

    Flooded/Damp Carpet Cleanup Suggestions

Copius amounts of baking soda on the carpet too. Seriously, a lot. Don't make an inch thick layer or anything, but you'll want to actually see that it's there. Then just vacuum when everything is dry. It will help with any odors as well.

Case Fans and Cable Management, How Important Are They?

Even with one intake fan and one exhaust fan, it's likely there's enough airflow through the case to keep things cool even with a rat's nest of cables. That being said, the smoother the path there is through the case, the quicker it will flow. If there's a rat's nest of wiring in there, you...

    64bit Ubuntu on Gigabyte motherboard

What version of Ubuntu are you trying to install and what exactly is occuring? I've had a few versions installed on at least two Gigabyte boards throughout the years with no problems. Only actual boards that didn't want to play nice with it were some older ECS ones. I do know first-hand that...

    Phone won't charge

Try using an actual wall charger and see what happens - much more power flowing out of an outlet than a USB port.

    Overheating Solid State?

Have you inspected the vents to make certain they are free of random fluff/dust? My initial guess would be that there is stuff preventing proper airflow out of the system and thus causing an overheat. Either that or whatever thermal compound that was between the CPU and HSF has degraded.

can i safely glue my barebones to the wall

Well, it seems you're serious; strange, but to each their own. You specifically keep mentioning the wall being cool. The wall's temperature has nothing to do with keeping the system cool - it's not going to act as a heatsink or anything. Cases are designed to allow a certain airflow pattern -...

Knowing you and technology, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if (after all the recommendations what will come) you end up using a Ziploc sandwich baggie.

    "no bootable device."

Yes. Did you remove the laptop's primary drive and plug this into it? If so, that's your problem. The files are still there, but you need to connect it to a running system (either via USB or Motherboard SATA) in order to access the drive, otherwise your laptop is looking at it as the Primary...
