well what happens when the new chips come out, another new motherboard socket? or will they just design the 65nm processors to fit into AM2. and what about the DDR3 because AM2 doesnt support it, will AMD be behind another 2 years?

good post omega, but we dont know much about your psu youll have to tell us the amount of amps on the 12 volt rails. maybe if you post a brand name and model we can find out more for you. 530 should be able to run SLI it just depends if its a quality psu or not.

as for using pciex4 or x1 i dont believe you can do that (although im not positive im 90 percent sure) i think you need 2 x16 slots available.

im going to say go with the am2 motherboard even though the performance gain isnt there yet, but AM2 IS the future of AMD and if it doesnt perform much better than a 939 system at the start it is the most upgradable option hands down right now.

weve been saying that for a long time, but i agree dual core would be a wise choice. also are you sure you want to go SLi i myself think SLI is just a money hole to begin with, one nice card like the one you have selected will do fine and u can save money on motherboard...
