Well... a major issue that can arise with high heat is the capacitors on your card expanding and eventually bursting (by bursting I don't mean blowing up and shooting shrapnel everywhere, they just begin to leak what is inside them.) The time it takes for this to happen is significantly...

Unless the RAM you have in there now is quite a bit slower than the new RAM you plan to get, or if you have 512MB or less RAM in your system now, you won't notice much of a speed difference, if at all, if you upgrade to better quality RAM.
