RPM speeds, 7200 vs 5400...

Given the fact that the computer is old, dusty, probably has windows ME, 95, or 98, and it hasnt been used in a while with old PCI slots, 512 MB RAM, and a dusty power supply, along with 120 GB Hard drive also not to mention its an old Compaq Computer, my suggestion (and im being very honest)...

Good to go sir. Rule of thumb, NEVER go cheap on the power supply. Good thing you switched so your system should be good to go. Make sure you take pics once you get everything.

An Update I added a second 4890 since best buy had a clearance on the 4890s for $176. So I picked up the last one and stuck in the computer. When I ran 3d Mark (shareware version), I gained 4003 points running crossfire with everything stock. Im pretty sure I could overclock and do better...

Sir you need a major upgrade...

i7 920 over 965 anyday... Better overclocking capability with turbo boost it goes over 2.66 anyway. Not to mention hyperthreading. Just different technology... You still should be fine with the 965 though.
