What ever has the better refresh rate in which I would think a monitor might be more suitable.... read the specs on what you are thinking of purchasing.

Check your sound settings and make sure sound is set for analogue and not digital.

Sounds like your monitor power supply has crapped itself by not lighting up the back panel screen.. Repair it or buy a new monitor.

I think you need a new CD/DVD drive.....Yours has apparently gave up the ghost....RIP

Go into your bios settings to do a reset to the default settings and see what happens. If this fixes your problem then you are OK.

I'm not arguing digital signals out put... Do you know the HDMI standard? how many wires in the cable and actually how many are used. how many for TMDS Data, Data Shields, Data clock, ground and power etc etc. As I said not all HDMI cables are equal or wired the same..... go google HDMI specs...

If I understand you correctly when you plug the head phones into the TV the sound is automatically switched to head set in which case there is nothing you can do as the socket is wired up to do this.

I agree on principle that pricy HDMI cables are a rip off in terms for quality but then again be aware of the cheapies as some are inferior in performance.... reason being some of the cheaper cables do not use all the pins allocated. In fact you are not fine with every HDMI cable purchased.

Bad intel stock coolers...unless they stop working never encountered one to be bad. If you are talking overclocked CPU what do you expect....

To get drivers for old Packard Bell computers is near impossible as you only have the UK site which does not support old PC's. Advise to you is disable audio in your bios settings and install a sound card which would be simple cost effective solution.

HS1 has it own usb sound card as where the HS1A uses your existing sound card, so go for the HS1A

Cooler is not failing as no temperature can jump up and down that quick...may be the software using to read temp is Dodgy..... Just set the desired temp for warning in bios and that should be all required....

That can be a hard one to solve problem, no doubt electrical interference some where from the hard ware.... some times changing components might fix it...

If you can open the speakers up the volume control could do with a slight spray of wd40. sounds like the volume control pot has dry connections.

Read your motherboard manual and make sure your audio jumpers are set correctly.

Try another audio cable...sounds like a bad connection
