    normal computer temps?

Ideally, on the stock cooler, between 40C and 50C is fairly normal for the CPU cores.

Second time I've had a problem with G.Skill Memory

^ C2 chips don't overclock nearly as well with all 4 DIMM's in place, yes. However, if it's a black edition processor, then overclocking with the multiplier won't affect this at all. C3 was the one that fixed it. Out of curiosity, what power supply are you running? If you've got a crappy one...

got a really really really slow computer on my hands

256mb is really not enough for xp to operate efficiently. It can usually run comfortably inside 512mb as long as there's no crapware, though. The CPU should be plenty for that application...no worries there. If it's still particularly slow after adding RAM, then the problem is most likely...

got a really really really slow computer on my hands

^that Also, define "slow"...? If you mean opening and closing things, it's probably the hard drive, though on older computers the RAM and CPU can play a part as well.

    Is This Buy Good?

^ The rig I put together should run any CoD game just fine. They're all console ports at this point, so they're designed for hardware that's several years old. 2 gigs of RAM, an Athlon II x2, and that 4830 should be able to run any of them on max, unless he's got a ridiculously high-res monitor...

    Is This Buy Good?

Yerp, this will give you problems, then. A single core CPU will be woefully underpowered for today's games. That build costs $358 shipped. Can you stretch it any higher or is that the limit? edit- try this on for size:

My First Build, How do you think I did? Criticism WELCOME

I wish I knew more about SSD drives, but AFAIK the Crucial RealSSD ones are good. That'll definitely speed things up. The HDD you bought isn't awful for a mechanical drive, though...it's just not as fast as a Samsung F3 or WD Caviar Black. If you had a slow-as-christmas "storage only" drive...

My First Build, How do you think I did? Criticism WELCOME

Wouldn't gotten a faster hard drive, personally. You could have done worse, though. You also would most likely have saved money by going with Newegg. The power supply, though...that's going to be a problem. Nearly all Diablotek units are junk. They won't meet their rated power, use crappy...

    News and weather feeds application

Doesn't Windows 7 come with some gadgets for that? edit: Vista does as well. For XP, there's a way to install the Vista sidebar: http://lifehacker.com/#!5089081/install-the-windows-vista-sidebar-in-xp

    What are you currently playing?

Just played through Mass Effect 2 on PC. I'd played it on the 360, but it looks soooo much better on PC. I didn't think there'd be a difference since it's DX9, but holy poop! I still haven't figured out how to force AA, though. :/

    Is This Buy Good?

^ There's only one common reason to buy a graphics card like that... Still, if it's an HTPC or work computer or or something, then I'll revise my analysis by saying that the GPU is way overkill. Spend less on it and more on parts that won't explode. (OK, they probably won't explode, but you get...

    MacBook Pro RAM upgrade

Like I said, I don't know what model you have specifically, so I can't comment on individual RAM kits. Assuming your Macbook uses DDR3, though, it should work.

    MacBook Pro RAM upgrade

It has to be approved my apple, basically. Don't know what model you have specifically, so I can't tell you what to upgrade to, but you should be able to find what you need here...

    Is This Buy Good?

Not so much. I hate to shoot you down, but I'm going to be honest: The case, for $40, is pretty crappy. You can do a LOT better. That one has pretty low build quality, no cable management, and mediocre airflow. Probably has sharp edges on the inside, too...most of the ones build with bare...

Upgrading 5 year old comp. Couple of questions..

If you bought a retail version of Windows from a store somewhere, then you can just install it on the new machine. No worries. You may not even have to reinstall it...sometimes you can boot from the install disk and use the "repair" option, and it'll have you up and running on the new board in...

Help with an eMachines that won't boot up

^ And crappy power supplies. Not a good combo. Just to get it out of the way, look at the label on your power supply. If it's labeled as a Bestec ATX-250-12E, its 5V rail has probably fried your mobo. That model is notorious for it. It used crappy capacitors and no protections on the 5V rail...

New look of facebook.com is it Pros or Cons?

I hate this new interface with the pictures...the old way was much better. Much lighter, too...this new thing doesn't load nearly as fast.
