    Post Your Desktop "Background screenshot"

This is a pic of Ernesto's environement. (First in sig) This is Windows Server 2003 Enterprise with SP2 RC. @Rambo: Vista is really cool looking, but you;ll see that it rather sucks a lot of resources and the PC is not as performent as with XP, or NT kernels. I guess that's why you're...

Can this power supply handle dual 8800 GTX?

They recommend, but it should work. I don't quite know how affective the Amps can affect a GPU's performance, but to my book, it should be alright. If not, then wait a bit more for two 8600 series.

Heh, I don't really bother with XGL really. I use Xorg for the Window manager. I'll give it another try at a later time, but what happens with XGL is that it's garbled. All settings are enabled, but what you see is actual moving paralelograms (sp) and there is no Window fram on the windows...

    Nvidia 8 series for laptops!

The Go series should be an extreme way to improve gaming with those GPU sets. I think laptop cooling will be bigger though. If they use normal 8800 GPUs, then laptops will at least be the size of a normal video card. But My IBM Thinkpad 365XD with a Powerful Pentium 133MHZ CPU will beat you...

I'm actually into Linux also. I never need to go back to Windows, but eventually, yes. The latest 10.2 ran XGL bugged up badly, and the K3b burning program can't find my DVD burner.

    Frustrated!!!

Oh, yeah. Lock switch is actually a good thing, but I find it rather useless even if someone steals it. All they do is flip a button. Anyways, glad you got that sorted now :D

Post A Pic Of Your Pc Here :)

This is an old pic of Ernesto, my first in sig. Everything is preety much the same, besides a new mouse and keyboard, GPU and the two leds fans are reversed. That's Bruce. The only difference from then is that he has the front 80mm fan installed and working. In the pic, he didn't.

80mm fan and a chipset cooler

For the NB cooler, they make me think of those special CPU heatsinks for the XPC form factors. I'd suggest it to be syncronised to a fan that blows out the air. For CPU cooling, have a look at this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835103003 It's loud and it's...

    Vista Upgrade Problem

Could I ask you the Lexmark model you have?

    Is this a good psu/case?

The OCZ is an actual good one, if you ask me If you have doubts on which one to choose, look for one with an Active PFC and high efficiency. It's more stable than a dirt cheap PSU.

Any USB drives compatible with Windows 95?

It's possible, yes. Too slow machine? Jeese, that's an old 100MHZ CPU or something? It's impossible to have a too slow machine. A too high end program, yes. I'd recommend you freeware from www.oldapps.com If that URL is a 404, I'll check for the good URL.

    cpu extreme overheat on windows

Make sure you have a good airflow. For thermal paste, have you applied some, being a rice grain size?
  14. L

    High Temps

Have you got thermal compaound between the heatsink and the CPU?
  15. L

    Frustrated!!!

The pink thermal pad that came on my heatsink chocked my CPU. It wasn't transferring it and when I wanted to remove that pad to apply the paste, the CPU took off with it. Actually, it will run okay, but not actually to a good state. I've seen my CPU up to 88C the last time without paste...

    Frustrated!!!

You should either install the driver manually, by going in to the advanced driver installation. Select your USB controller in Device Manager. Click Reinstall driver. Go in the advanced search properties and browse into the USB directory on the CD. It's easy to do. If you need more help, I'll...

There is a Vista theme in windowblinds that works and looks exactly like the RTM. It's exactly like Vista, and people will get it confounded :D
