The difference wouldnt be vary noticable at all IMO unless your going to run some detalied benchmarks, it certainly isnt worth getting if you already have the quad, stick with the Q6600 and overclock it if you can!!

I dont know about the fan speed, but you could just unplug it and connect it staright to your power supply. ATItool is your best bet for overclocking i think
