how many people have killed a CPU from overclocking?

Prime 95 calculates prime numbers (I think). So, if the CPU is unstable, it will eventually generate a number that is NOT a prime number. This shows up as an error.

how many people have killed a CPU from overclocking?

You put the overclock under stress, to see if it is actually stable. If it is fully stable, you will have no problems at all, unless you give the CPU lots of voltage to keep the oc stable.

You DO know you can put memory on a divider, right? You know, remove the memory as possible cause of instability, so yo know the CPU is causing the instability.

    comparible amd to E6600

At stock clocks, AMD only have their top models that are close to those 2 CPU's. However, C2D's overclock much easier and further than X2 Athlons, making them even more worth their price.

No, you don't. There is a dual core optimizer you can get, to improve gaming performance with some games. On the AMD site.

    comp. case

Well, I intend on making my next case with wood, simply because it's very easy to use, and choose exactly where, and how big, vents will be, orientation, things like that.

    comp. case

Don't worry about that. For paper to burn without a source of ignition, it needs to be 232 degrees Celsius. Cardboard will be close to that temperature. And, I'm sure you are fully aware, there are no sources of ignition in a computer. As long as the plastic will only be used as standoffs...

Make sure no metal makes contact with the underside of the motherboard. Maybe have a layer of foam between the new case and the motherboard.

    CPU Fan not spinning

The 4th wire is just to measure fan speed more accurately, using a different method to that the 3rd wire uses. So, 2 wires for current and 2 wires for speed measuring.

    CPU Fan not spinning

It's down to BIOS settings. On my board, you can change the temp that the CPU/NB fans goes from 0% to 50%, and the temp the CPU/NB fans go from 50% to 100%. You just need to lower the 'activation' temperature. Before I lowered it, my CPU fan would stay off when I'm in the BIOS, overclocking...

    SATA Help, w/ pic

The SATA plug is much easier to attach than the Molex version. Plus, the SATA plugs have 1 extra wire than Molex plugs (at least, for me they do). No idea what it's for, maybe an extra ground wire.
