    we had suspected that something was wrong with the PSU cause we ruled out everything else. so he stuck it in another computer and the computer didn't work and so he returned. the guys at fry's tested it out and it didn't work either. i dont exactly know what the problem was, sorry.

    no my name isn't ben. i'll tell my friend to make sure the mobo isn't touching the case. on the back of the power supply, all i saw was a I/O switch to turn it on. how do i set the voltage?

    yes the standoffs were all in place. the mobo and everything else fits perfectly.

    if u mean reduce static electricity by touching the metal insides of the case, then yes we did that. but if static electricity had something to do with this, im sure one of us would have felt something. thanks for the suggestion though.
