Building a PC for my friend

Alright well then here are some things I recommend. Case CPU Mobo GPU RAM PSU Hard Drive Optical Drive That comes to a total of $715.44 with shipping from newegg. Some of those come with mail-in-rebates however, and that could take it down to $665.44. I know it's a little over, but I...

Need Help Building a Gaming Rig

The power supply you had selected is not a recommended brand and is just not very reliable. If it fails, it could fry the rest of your components. I can't remember if HDMI works for video and audio or not. If it doesn't, then you just need a standard av cable(red and white). We have had...

    building my first desktop

Well it depends what you want to have. Do you want Microsoft Office(Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc)? Then you will have to buy it. However, the first thing you should do is install the drivers for your components using the discs that came with them, or getting them online. Then you need an...

Building a PC for my friend

Well for that budget, there is no way he could play too many games on high settings. However, I can give some recommendations. First I need to know some things. Does he need a monitor? keyboard? mouse? case? Because depending on those can make a big difference on his budget.

New Gaming Build -- $1400 Budget (ish)

Yeah I hadn't really realized that. Oh yeah that would make sense. Yeah either of those would definitely be good.

Oh yeah I skipped over that because I really had no idea what it meant. I didn't realize it meant that they would overclock it for you. I figured it meant like how much you planned on over clocking it.

New Gaming Build -- $1400 Budget (ish)

Never mind, I just read a little more in detail about it and realized it is 80 Plus Silver Certified. It isn't advertised that way(with the sticker on the picture or in the name), so I missed it the first time, even when I scrolled through the specs. Now I'm wondering how I missed it, because...

New Budget, Let me know what you think of this build!!!!

I would say the NZXT Tempest EVO, and not just because I suggested it. It has more fans(6!!) and is the biggest, which means plenty of room to expand. My friend has it and loves it, which is another reason why I would say it. It has the dimensions of a full tower also.

New Gaming Build -- $1400 Budget (ish)

Why did you recommend the XFX over the Corsair that is an 80 Plus Certified PSU? Just curious, because I would have stuck with the Corsair.

New Gaming Build -- $1400 Budget (ish)

If you want a mid-tower, the NZXT Tempest EVO is great. It has the dimensions of a full tower, unless you want a mid because it's smaller. In which case, just ignore my post.

New Budget, Let me know what you think of this build!!!!

All of the cases they suggested are cheaper and have much less shipping cost, as mentioned, and are still pretty good. I think my friend got his Tempest EVO from amazon because of the shipping cost, but I'm not sure.

New Budget, Let me know what you think of this build!!!!

Well it's a little more expensive, but my friend has it, and for a mid-tower, it is a really big case. It has the dimensions of a full tower. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146062&Tpk=nzxt%20tempest%20evo

Need Help Building a Gaming Rig

Um well if they are both really good then it can greatly increase your graphics quality and FPS. No, if you want to save money now, just get one and upgrade it later with one of the same level of performance(like another 6950 2GB).

New Budget, Let me know what you think of this build!!!!

If you change to that Mobo, it will run the 1600 MHz RAM, but then you definitely need a better PSU than that Raidmax. I would recommend Corsair, Seasonic, XFX, Antec, PC Power and Cooling, or Silverstone.

Need Help Building a Gaming Rig

As for your build, you definitely need to change that power supply. You should go for the Corsair one that is just two below it. And if you have the money, I would go for a 6950 2GB graphics card, as they are just a little bit better than the GTX 560 Ti's. I actually took your site specs and...

Need Help Building a Gaming Rig

Well look at my signature. It was a $1200 dollar computer or so, but I already had the monitor. I play SC2 on max settings and it runs at about 100-130 FPS. For your budget, you could even get a second graphics card and crossfire/SLI them.

New Budget, Let me know what you think of this build!!!!

Well that raidmax PSU is not very good quality and could fry the components in that other computer. Which would result in more money out of your pocket for another computer. I would recommend either of these. 1333 MHz 1600 MHz It will just depend on what you want. Either go for the 1333...

New Budget, Let me know what you think of this build!!!!

Why do you have two PSUs picked out? The case also comes with a 500W power supply. You don't need it with that 600W combo with the Mobo. I don't know if you can get it without it, but I would try to, because you don't need a 500W crappy quality PSU just laying around. Also your Mobo has to...

building a new gaming computer and need advice on parts

Oh yeah I know what you are saying, mine got hit hard too. If you turn 16 soon then you should be fine. @OP--Yes those parts will work together, or he wouldn't have suggested them together. I'm not trying to be a smart @$$, I'm just letting you know.
