    video card for laptop.

it really depends on the laptop. I'm a dell user and I've found that most of the higher end laptops I've had have dedicated graphics cards that you can change, for example my backup laptop can have a different graphics card, probably my main laptop too though I've never taken it apart. if it...

Hard Drive Failed, How to Replace It

click on the us/british flag on the left ;) a live cd is basically an Operating System (like Windows) that runs straight off the cd, it doesn't need installing. This is ideal as you don't want to use your hard drive. So you burn this image to a cd, then boot to it and it should come up with a...

    Laptop Power off issue

I wouldn't have thought that would be the issue, as I even managed to get it to switch off when I was rebooting from the bios. Normally if it's a memory issue, it only happens when it tries to use the faulty section of it, which is normally when running a few programs, I will try it anyway...

So I've been given this laptop to fix, as happens fairly regularly(Toshiba SA30-203, in case you were wondering), and I was told that it has a problem with having lines down the screen (needs a new screen, I know that much) and that it turns itself off after about half an hour. So when I got it...
